A sad day today. The world lost a truly great man. It is not for me to preach to the choir about all the amazing products he helped create. Others will do so. My abiding memory will be of the speaker. The keynotes he gave should be required viewing for anyone who aspires to public speaking. Meticulous preparation always, such beautifully simple slide presentations. The spoken word is the message. No-one goes willingly to lectures or keynotes to simply read what you have written in your slides, be they Keynote or PowerPoint. They come to hear what you have to say. Keep the written visual content sparse, tell them what they need to know. Be brave, engage, enthuse. The message is what’s important. Look them in the eye and let them see your soul.
